What do you REALLY want to do in your career right now?

Let’s talk about Trust.

Do you trust your employer?

Do you trust your manager?

Do you trust your team?

Do you trust yourself?

How am I trying to help people today?

I want people to ask themselves whether they trust the people, the team, the manager, and the organization they work for. I don’t know about you but there was a period in my career which I didn’t trust my employer, team, or manager.

How did it become like this?

Well…it’s really down to the people. The leader who sets the role model for the rest of the employees of the company has the effect of trickling down distrust down last employee. If there is no culture of trust, then there will result in hidden groups of employee concealed within departments.

For me personally. There was the leader of a organization I didn’t trust because she didn’t have the best interest in mind for me. She didn’t value us as people; not even as employees. Money and gifts only goes so far for me, because I desperately wanted a human connection. Not more money.

What do you do when this happens?

You just have to remember one thing. You’re in charge of your career.

You make the decisions for your career with no one there to stop you. Not even your mom or dad or your best friend or your team or your boss. The burden lies with you and only you. So suck it up and decide on what you want to do.

After which you’ll feel like you’re in cloud nine.

And by the end of this sentence you will probably already know but not be brave enough to execute it.

Really… what do you have to lose?

Just do it!

Come on… what do you have to lose?

Say someone criticizes you for doing what you want to do. Do you have to do what they say?

No you don’t!

If they criticize you and not accept what you have done, then they are not worthy to have you as their friend.

You have meaning!

You’re valuable!

You’re not just a clog in a machine that operates 24/7 without stopping.

You are you.

We don’t need friends who don’t accept us for who we are.

Really… you don’t.

You’ll meet new friends who will accept you and love you for who you are. So, treasure these friends and you’ll have the best ride of your life. I can guarantee it.

So let me ask you.

What do you really want to do in your career right now?

What are you waiting for?

Just do it.

Great post man. I can very much relate to this. Sometimes, we are stuck in the rut for the wrong reasons. There’s so much value in figuring out what impact you want to have in the world and taking the first leap into that journey.

Hi Shazid, thanks for the comment. I’m going to be writing a blog post about job searching for a passionate company vs. a supportive job based on my 2 months of experience doing so and the tracking I did.

Just wondering, how did you come across my blog post?
